1.New furnace or electric furnace that has not been used for a longtime must be baked before use, and old rods or other heat sourcesshould be used as much as possible when baking.
2.When the silicon carbon rod passes through the rod holes on bothsides of the furnace wall, it should rotate freely 360° to preventforced installation and knocking, and the iron pipe with the samediameter as the rod end can be used for trial installation before therod is installed.
3.Silicon carbon rod is hard and brittle, special care should be takenwhen transporting, unpacking, installing and replacing. Handle andhandle gently, and strictly prevent mechanical knocking to avoidbreaking the rod.
4.When the new furnace starts to send electricity, in order to preventthe rod from breaking, the voltage should be gradually increased.Generally, the starting voltage is 1/2 of the rated voltage, and thengradually increase the voltage after everything is normal.
5.If there is water discharge during the heating process when firingdevices or materials, the resistance furnace used should leave anexhaust hole in order to remove water or other harmful waste gases inthe furnace so as not to affect the service life of the rod.
6.During the storage of the rod, pay attention to moisture-proof. Ifdeliquescence is found at the aluminum spraying at the end of therod, aluminum can be re-sprayed after surface treatment. If there isno aluminum spraying condition, several layers of aluminum foil canbe wrapped in the rod aluminum spraying section and then used.
7.It is strictly forbidden to overload the silicon carbon rod. If therod breaks for some reason or finds that the rod heats unevenly, andthe local incandescent or dark red phenomenon is a period of time,this indicates that the aging of the rod body is inconsistent, theresistance difference between the section is too large, and thefurnace should be stopped for maintenance and replacement.
8.The use of silicon carbon rod must be equipped with voltageregulating transformer or thyristor voltage regulator and voltage,ammeter and temperature automatic control instrument. Due to theoxidation of the rod during use, the resistance gradually increases,in order to maintain the normal temperature of the furnace, the usevoltage should be increased. When the voltage is increased to themaximum limit of the transformer used and still cannot meet therequirements, the furnace can be stopped to change the wiring mode ofthe rod and continue to be used.
